Projection: likely out

Delaware State’s résumé is shaped by a couple of clear highs and a longer string of damaging lows, and that contrast explains where they stand. The road win at Longwood and the home victory over Delaware are the kinds of results a committee can point to, but they sit alongside heavy defeats at Syracuse, Miami, Temple and Rutgers and puzzling losses to Niagara, New Haven, Coppin State and Norfolk State that undercut any claim of consistency. The team has not consistently shown it can win away from hostile environments, so the remaining conference schedule and the conference tournament represent the only realistic paths to repair the résumé. Those remaining games mostly come against lesser opponents and will help only if Delaware State stops piling up bad losses and begins producing more road and neutral-site success.
